Many 1Ls have called and emailed the LCS office with questions about the Getting on Track programs, and Early Bird Resume & Cover Letter Workshops.
Getting on Track workshops are an introduction to the LCS Office and its resources, as well as an explanation of what you should be thinking about during your time in law school with regard to career planning.
Early Bird Resume and Cover Letter Workshops will be held on January 7 (noon – 1 pm, room 3201) and January 8 (5:15 -6:15 pm, room 3201.) These workshops will explain how to convert your pre-law school resume into one suitable for submission to legal employers. (If you’re unable to attend the workshops in January, we have DVDs of the resume and cover letter workshop available. Come into the LCS office to borrow one.) We also have handouts on resumes and cover letters available through LCSonline in the Resource Library (Click the Application Materials menu button to find the Resource Library tab).
The information covered in Getting on Track and in the Early Bird Resume and Cover Letter Workshops is not duplicative. If you are able to attend a resume/cover letter workshop, you are still required to attend a Getting on Track session.
