Carolyn Lee (GGU JD 07) is the recipient of the Law School's Alumni Volunteer of the Year Award for all the outstanding work and dedication she has shown GGU Law over the past year. Carolyn is an Alumni Board Member and is very active with Griffin Connect. In these roles, Carolyn spearheaded two Griffin Connect Symposia during the 2010-2011 school year. Carolyn has also individually met with numerous students and alumni for informational interviews. The GGU community is very lucky to have such an amazing and dedicated alumna. When presented with the award, Carolyn remarked that she finds all her GGU efforts to be fun and extremely satisfying, and encouraged more alumni to get involved. - Susanne Aronowitz
This year, the California Bar Foundation has recognized three of our students with scholarships! Luthien Niland (JD 12) and Angela Kelley (JD 12) each received a $5,000 Public Interest Scholarship. Nicole Edwards-Masuda (JD 11) received a Rosenthal Bar Exam Scholarship.
The Foundation’s Public Interest Scholarships are designed to “recognize law students who demonstrate superior academic achievement, a sustained and extensive commitment to public service, often while overcoming serious personal hardships and obstacles, an intent to pursue a career in public interest law, and financial need.”
The Rosenthal Bar Exam Scholarship Program “recognizes outstanding graduating California law students . . . who are embarking on careers in public service law by providing financial support for costs related to taking the California Bar Exam.”
Having worked closely with Luthien, Angela and Nicole, I can think of few students who deserve this honor more. Congratulations! - Leeor Neta
