Recently, I was among a group of GGU law students that toured Kumin Sommers LLP, a small law firm in San Francisco practicing employment, civil rights, and small business law. The tour was part of Law Career Services' Catching a Glimpse series. Samantha Nilsen (GGU JD 09) led the tour and students met with both of the firm’s partners, who offered invaluable advice on starting a solo practice and becoming marketable to small firms. In fact, Mr. Sommers took an hour out of his day to discuss his career and passion for justice. Over the last year and a half, the firm hired four new associates and moved offices to help manage the increasing number of cases they receive. This was a unique opportunity to witness a dynamic firm first-hand, as well as see two recent GGU grads - Rory Quintana (GGU JD 08) is also an associate at the firm - hard at work as attorneys.
